History
Collabera was established in 1991 by Hiten Patel in Morristown, New Jersey, in the United States, by the name of GCI (Global Consultants Inc). In February 2008 it changed its name to Collabera, citing it as the evolving nature of their developing Client-Vendor relationship, just after acquiring IVL India (for SAP Services) and Blue Hammock (for Strategic Sevices).[2]
Operations
Collabera focuses on a number of industries, including financial services,energy, technology, communications and media, as well as manufacturing, retail and logistics. The company provides information technology and business planning services in North America, Europe,and India.Traditionally, Application Development Maintenance (ADM) has been the single largest revenue generator (60 per cent) for the company. It has identified SAP practice and Software testing services as emerging areas[3].
Funding
Recently Collabera received $30 million as funding from Oak Investment Partners which has been termed as unattributed.[4][5]

- On the 8th of August 2011 Collabera announced that it has been appraised as a V1.3 CMMI LEVEL 5 organisation.[8]

- In 2010 Collabera made it to the Global Outsourcing 100 list and World's Best Outsourcing Advisors announced by International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP).[10]
- Ranked 88th in the InformationWeek 2010 rankings of the Most Innovative Business Technology Organizations[11]
- Collabera's Mobile Banking related application has been recognized by Microsoft as one of the best ASP.Net applications on the Windows Azure platform, at the recently concluded Microsoft Windows Azure based cloud application development contest.[12]
