The club was founded in 2002 when the state of Morelos bought the Atlético Celaya franchise who at the time played in the top Mexican division. Colibris was the fifth professional club in the state of Morelos to play in the Primera División de México , Zacatepec been the first in 1948, followed by Marte, who moved from México City to Cuernavaca in 1953, Cuautla in 1955 and Oaxtepec in 1982. The club played only 1 year in the top league before been relegated in 2003.That same year the club was sold to Tijuana were it became Trotamundos Tijuana.The club currently plays in the Tercera División de México The state also represented by Club Universidad Nacional inferior squad Pumas Morelos.

History
Colibríes was a Mexican football team. They are nicknamed Los Colibríes (Honey birds). Their colors are a variate of blue and white. Their uniform color is a blue and white shirt that is split down the middle. Their greatest achievements were in the early 2000s when they played in the top division.The club was founded in 2002[2] when Atlético Celaya was moved to Morelos where hey changed the clubs colors and badge.There were problems with the club from the begging when club Zacatepec protest with the city claiming that they did not want another club in the city who played in a superior division than them who played in the second division. Soon after there were problems with their stadium which was built near a rocky place which the federation implied the fans might just them as weapons.The clubs first matches were enterprisingly good wining their first 3 out of 4 matches, but soon more controversy came up when player and coaches alike claimed that their monthly paychecks had bounce.In 2003[3] their stadium was finally approve by the federation an so they played their from 2002-2003[4] season when they were relegated.
Relegation fight
With a poor tournament, the club found itself fighting neck to neck with Jaguares de Chiapas which was also playing it first year in the Primera División de México. In the round 17 [5] the last round of the tournament Colibris had a chance to avoid relegation with a victory over Cruz Azul but unfortuanally the club drew a 0-0[6] draw and with a Jaguares de Chiapas last minute win over Tecos de la UAG the club future was sentience.Soon after the club was sold to Tijuana.
