Philosophy
The University of Navojoa follows the teaching practices and methods of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The university affirms that there is a Creator God, who is the sustainer of the universe, and a redeemer of humanity. The university also affirms, through its Adventist belief that God is the sole source and origin of all knowledge and ultimate truth. In its courses the university teachers that humans are rational, creative individuals with free will. The university espouses the philosophy that humanity is divinely created, and through comprehensive education, it may be brought closer to the divine image originally conceived at creation. The university supports students who are actively engaged in being useful citizens. Students are encouraged and brought to a point to discover and fulfill their God-given calling or vocational talent through selfless service for the life on earth and the life to come in glory.[1].
Values Education
Respect. Careful treatment of all, in all circumstances with those whom we associate and deal with, which is in harmony with Jesus: "So all the things that men want to do with you, well you do with them ..." (Matt.7: 12). "Thus, while most men to know Jesus Christ will be more careful to treat with respect, courtesy and correcting their peers" (White, 1910). [2]
Love. Love is the element in all decisions and activities, when in adherence to the council from the Spirit of Prophecy argues that inspired, "the love of creation and redemption is the foundation of true education" (White, 1910)[2], so that "rooted and grounded in love, you can well understand with all the saints, the width and length, depth and height of the love of Christ" (Eph. 3:17, 18).
Selfless service. Under which it reflects the character of Christ who serves more than any other actor, has the power to shape the character and conduct their lives (White, 1910). [3] Therefore, every one put in service to others the gift he has received, dispensed fairly different because of God "(1 Pet.4: 10).
Order. Quality assurance in all processes, and considered by God as the first law of heaven, is an indispensable element of any educational model, "But get any decent and orderly" (1 Cor. 14:40).
Integrity. As a value denoting allegiance to God in all areas of service, integrity states that seek a better homeland, namely the "heavenly" (White, 1910). [3] Therefore, also urged youth to be cautious; presentándote around you as an example of good works, teaching showing integrity ... so that the opponent be ashamed, and has nothing bad to say about you (Titus 2:6,7).
Perseverance. Essential component of character, perseverance is a quality that everyone should "grow strongly because invests its possessor with an irresistible power, a power that will make you strong to do good, strong to resist evil and to withstand adversity (White, 1910). [4] Therefore, "one thing I do, forgetting what is behind, continuing to target the goal ..." (Fil. 3:13,14).
Health. What sublime yearning of God for their children (3 John 2), its preservation in any field must be a priority: "Health is an inestimable blessing ... It has a lot to do with a capacity to serve, and must be Saved so sacred as the character, because the most perfect health is, the more perfect is also our efforts to advance the cause of God and benefit mankind" (White, 1910).
