- Cold water wake
-
Cold water wake - in oceanography describes phenomenon of ocean cooling in the wake of a tropical cyclone passage. Cold wakes are caused by mixing of colder water below the warmer oceanic mixed layer and through upwelling, advection, and air-sea fluxes.
Cold wakes have distinct cooling asymmetry.[1]
