Codecraft is an annual Online computer programming competition conducted by International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-Hyderabad) as a part of their Techfest, Threads. Despite its young age, Codecraft has become an immensely popular contest. It attracts huge number of participants from all around the world.

History
The first codecraft took place way back in 2004. At that time it was not a very popular contest. But the popularity kept growing and now it is one of the most popular online programming contest of India.
Contest Rules
- Codecraft is open to all.
- Each team can consist of at most two members.
- One person can be member of at most one team.
- Two participants in a team CAN be from different Universities/Colleges.
- Languages allowed are C, C++ and Java.
- Generally it is an eight hour competition.
Past Contests
Codecraft 2007
This contest brought Codecraft into limelight.It saw huge participation from all over world. There were about 885 teams , from 24 countries and 289 institutions. It witnessed some of the best coders of world fighting for the top spot.In the end it was Codedancers (Adrian Kuegel) who won the contest. The contest was a huge success.
Codecraft 2008
This contest again was a huge success and enhanced the popularity of Codecraft greatly.It had registration from a total of 59 countries with teams from India (749 teams), China (153) , Bangladesh (47) , Iran (30), Russian Federation (30), Poland (29) ,etc. A total of about 1450 teams participated.The participants were from 549 Different Institutions. It had participation from some of the finest universities in the world including Stanford University, Carnegie Mellon University, University of Maryland, University of British Columbia, Texas Tech University, Tshinghua University, Moscow State University etc.The Problem set was appreciated a lot and finally one problem remained unsolved.Lou Tiancheng who won the contest eventually is ranked first on Topcoder and his team secured second place in ACM ICPC Finals.
Codecraft 2009
This year the contest took place on 15th February, 2009. First ranked TopCoder ACRush won the contest.
