Club Gimnasia y Esgrima de Rosario is a sports club from Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina.
Mainly known for its waterpolo and rugby union teams, the club also fields competitive teams in swimming, athletics, fencing, tennis, martial arts, gymnastics, association football, volleyball and field hockey.

History
In 1902, Estudiantes Football Club de Rosario was interested in acquiring their own plot of land for the practice of sports. Mmebers of the club set their eyes on a field in Parque Indepedienca that was also sought after by another club called Club Atlético Argentino.
The governor of Rosario at the time decided to give the land to both clubs on the condition that they had merge. On September 10, 1904, both clubs became one and took the Club Atlético Argentino name.
In 1914 the club changed its name to Club Gimnasia y Esgrima de Rosario, which has remained since.
Sports
GER became a multi-sports club right from the start and has since encountered success in various disciplines.
Waterpolo
Probably the sport for which the club is mainly known today, GER have won the national Waterpolo championship title 9 times and the national league title 6 times.
Volleyball
In Volleyball, GER has also achieved some success, albeit at regional level, winning the provincial title 9 times. GER's best finish at national level was 3rd in 2002.
Rugby union
Gimnasia y Esgrima have to contend with Rosario's big three: Plaza, Jockey and Duendes. Nevertheless, GER still manage to hold their own and have won 5 regional titles along the years.
Field hockey
The women's field hockey team plays at the highest level of Argentine hockey, the Liga de Hockey Nacional 1st division.
