Clifford Wright (bishop)

Royston Clifford Wright (b 4 July 1922) was the Anglican Bishop of Monmouth from 1986 to 1991.[1]
Wright was educated at the University of Wales, Cardiff and ordained in 1946. [2] He held curacies in Bedwas, Newport and Walton-on-the-Hill, Liverpool before 17 years as a naval chaplain. In 1968 he became Vicar of Blaenavon. Further promotions to be Rural Dean of Pontypool [3] then Archdeacon of Monmouth[4] followed before his elevation to the Episcopate.
