Clement Power (born 20 August 1980 in London) is a British conductor.

Education

After studies of piano, violin and composition, he read music at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, receiving a double starred First, and conducting at the Royal College of Music, London.

Career

After a year (2005–06) as Paul Woodhouse Junior Fellow in Conducting with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Clement Power was named Assistant Conductor (2006–08) of the Ensemble Intercontemporain, Paris, where he worked with Pierre Boulez, Susanna Mälkki and Peter Eötvös. He has conducted the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra,[1] Orchestre de Bretagne, the Philharmonia,[2] and returned to the Ensemble Intercontemporain[3] and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.[4][5] 2009 saw his debuts with the NHK Symphony Orchestra in Suntory Hall, Tokyo (conducting Stockhausen's Gruppen for three orchestras),[6] the Gran Theatre del Liceu, Barcelona,[7] and the Philharmonie, Luxembourg, and broadcasts on BBC Radio 3 and Radio France. Recent engagements include the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, Philharmonia, Ensemble Intercontemporain[8], National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia, and Klangforum Wien[9][10][11][12]
