Clean Gum

Clean Gum

Clean Gum also referred to as "removable" or "degradable gum", is a water soluble gum developed by the British company Revolymer.[1] Created by scientists as a new commercial product, "Clean Gum" is designed to be a low adhesive gum, unlike regular confectionary gum, which could potentially be easily removed from a variety of surfaces, more-so than that of its confectionary counterpart.[2] The material, polymer, used to develop "Clean Gum", was introduced by Professor Terence Cosgrove.

Composition

Clean gum is an amphiphilic material, (meaning that it is both hydrophobic (repels water) and hydrophilic (attracts water)), which aids in the degradability and removability of the substance.

Development

Brands

"Clean Gum" is most directly associated with the brand Rev7. Rev7 is the first version of "clean gum" or rather, a "removable and degradable gum", to be put out on the market.
