Luena (pre-1975: Vila Luso) is a
town located in east centralAngola . It is the administrative capital of Moxico Province. While no exact figures have been figured yet, estimates on the population of the city varies from 60,000 to 200,000 residents, including an unknown number of refugees from theAngolan Civil War that officially ended in 2002. Following the death of rebel leaderJonas Savimbi peace talks began betweenUNITA leaders and theFAA in Luena on the 22nd of February.
