Synopsis

The show centered around the professional and personal lives of the doctors and nurses at Angels of Mercy Hospital in Los Angeles, California. While the show brought about familiar faces (Vivica A. Fox, Blair Underwood, and Michael Warren) it was a launching point for actors Hill Harper (who in a controversial episode, was on screen with his buttocks exposed), Gabrielle Union, and Saturday Night Live 's Maya Rudolph. During the second season, Les Moonves, president of CBS, wanted to cancel the show, and many members of the African-American community began a letter-writing campaign (a la Living Single) but to no avail. The show was canceled in December 2000.
