Valenciennes, 1836Cirrhibarbis capensis, known commonly as the Barbelled klipfish in South Africa,[1] is a species of clinid, and the only species in the genus Cirrhibarbis.[2] It is found around South Africa, in the southeast Atlantic ocean.[3] It was named by Achille Valenciennes in 1836,[4] and can reach a maximum length of 36 centimetres.[3] Blennies in this species feed primarily off of amphipods and isopods.[5]
