Chute Baronets

Chute Baronets
The Vyne, the seat of the Chute family.

There have been two Baronetcies created for persons with the surname Chute, one in the Baronetage of England and one in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom. Both creations are extinct.

The Chute Baronetcy, of Hinxhill Place in the County of Kent, was created in the Baronetage of England on 17 September 1684 for Sir George Chute, subsequently Member of Parliament for Winchelsea. The title became extinct on his death in 1722. Chaloner Chute, Speaker of the House of Commons, was the member of a more senior branch of the Chute family seated at The Vyne in Hampshire.

The Chute Baronetcy, of The Vyne in the County of Southampton, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 4 July 1952 for Charles Chute. The title became extinct on his death in 1956. He left his estate The Vyne to the National Trust.
