Christopher Buhler Berendt is an executive who has played a prominent role in shaping global carbon markets.[citation needed] After graduation from a leading law school in the state of Vermont, Mr. Berendt ran a New England law firm that specialized on the intersection between energy and environmental market law. He has also been involved at universities.[citation needed]
Currently, Berendt serves as an executive at an international carbon and energy consultancy,[1] where he invented the carbon adder concept[citation needed] and now directs the environmental markets practice. Berendt is also involved in public service. In 2007, Berendt testified to the US Senate on the inextricable link between energy and climate.[2]
