- Christmas Town: A Busch Gardens Celebration
-
Christmas Town: A Busch Gardens Celebration or more commonly referred to as Christmas Town is Busch Gardens Williamsburg's (a theme park in Williamsburg, Virginia) annual Christmas celebration. This celebration originally began in 2009, and it has been improved for its second season. Christmas Town in 2009 had very few rides open, but 2010 opened almost half of the park's rides. Christmas opens to guests on November 26.
Christmas Town 2009
This year's celebration featured over one million lights in the park. Some rides (such as the indoor Curse of Darkastle ride) remained operating. Since this was Christmas Town's original year at Busch Gardens, it was not as large and its operating season was not as long as 2010.
Christmas Town 2010
This year's celebration of Christmas now featured over one billion lights, including one million in the Italian section of the park (which did not open at Christmas Town 2009) alone. Almost half of the park's rides were operating this year, including the Griffon roller coaster, the new Europe in the Air simulator ride, and the sky ride which was transformed into the "Flight of Lights," along with all the rides that operated in Christmas Town 2009. This year also featured new shows, including Rejoice, which featured a live orchestra, and O Tannenbaum, a largely lit Christmas tree. Guests could also view the construction of Mach Tower, which was under construction at the time.
