Christine Westover, born Christina Yvette Bueno (on February 20, 1974) is an American author.

Early life
Christina Westover was born in San Jose, CA. Throughout her childhood she endured severe abuse and was later diagnosed with chronic Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Bipolar II Disorder, and Borderline Personality Disorder in 2001, after suffering a complete nervous breakdown[citation needed].
Style and contributions
Known for her psychologically complex and eccentric characters, her work has been compared to that of Henry David Thoreau and Kurt Vonnegut. She writes about love, often using characters with complicated sexual lives.[1]
In 2010, her first novel, Precipice, was released. The book is about relationships, music and perception, and is her tribute to men. The book was dedicated, "In memory of Kurt Cobain, who was a feminist, and to the musicians who inspire us all."[2] Kurt Cobain shared the same February 20 birthday as Westover.
Westover collaborated with biographer Andy Morris in August 2011 on the book Open Book: The Life and Death of Amy Winehouse.[3] Westover wrote the introduction, which was written shortly after the singer's death.
Her latest work, Poisoning Sylvie,[4] was released in October 2011 by World Publishing Limited.
Personal life
Christina Westover married in 1994. Six years later, she separated from her husband who she later divorced on the basis that she claimed to be homosexual[citation needed]. She currently resides in San Francisco, CA.
