Christa Beran (born Denner) is an Austrian who was awarded the title “Righteous Among The Nations” in 1985.
Life
She helped Edith Kahn, a Jew from Vienna who had escaped the labour camp of the company Besthorn in Aschersleben, obtain counterfeit “Arian” papers:
She gave her her certificate of baptism, her student’s identification, and her ration stamps. She reported to the police that she had lost her papers on July 29, 1942 when sailing on the Old Danube. Edith Kahn took on the identity of Christa Denner, went to Munich and survived the war there.
