Christ the King Institute
Priests and brothers of Christ the King Institute, Roldán (Province of Santa Fe) Argentina, April 2007

Christ the King Institute is a religious society made up of priests and brothers, who, separated from the world and bound by the vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience; and living fraternally and in community.

The Rev. José Luis Torres-Pardo CR is the founder of Christ the King Institute. The Institute was born in the Archdiocese of Rosario, Argentina, in 1980, with the support and approval of the local Archbishops. From a canonical point of view, Christ the King Institute is presently a “public ecclesiastical association”, with the expectation that it be approved as a “religious institute”.

The Mother House of Christ the King Institute is located in Argentina, in the city of Roldán (Province of Santa Fe), within the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Rosario, in whose church its priests are ordained.

The Kingship of Christ, both individually and socially, is the charisma, the mission, and the reason for being of the Institute, whose members live it in its triple dimension: monastic, doctrinal, and apostolic.

The principle objective of the Christ the King Institute is to serve priests and consecrated persons, aiding in their spiritual renovation and doctrinal formation, in view of their pastoral activities.

The principle means by which the Institute achieves its goals are preaching the Word of God, providing spiritual direction with the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius, and teaching ecclesiastical topics.

At the same time, the Institute dedicates itself to the formation and sanctification of the lay faithful, giving priority to the Legion of Christ the King.

Legion of Christ the King

The Legion of Christ the King is a movement of lay apostolate, which depends on Christ the King Institute. It is made up of men, women, youth and children, who, strengthened in spirit by the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius, labor to make the social order conform to the evangelical values. The Legion of Christ the King is extended throughout most of Argentina, and is also present in the archdioceses of Miami and Washington DC.
