Leeton High School

Leeton High School

Leeton High School is a secondary school in the town of Leeton in South Western New South Wales, Australia. The school is one of three secondary schools in the Local Government Area of Leeton and it has a reputation of excellence in sport, academic and cultural. The school is located near the CBD of Leeton.It has approximately 500 students and draws them from throughout the shire.

Fires

In May 2005, the school was devastated by fire that destroyed the science block. A new state-of-the-art block was opened ahead of schedule in February 2006. Recently in 2007 parts of the school were again devastated by fires, which were deliberately lit.Around August-September 2007, the school was again devastated by fires, this time destroying the English wing. Work on rebuilding that wing are currently being undertaken. There is currently no evidence or official statements to prove if it was deliberate.
