Chopta ,Starting Point for Tungnath & Chandrashila TrekChopta is small settlement and Commencement point to 3rd of Panch Kedar Tungnath About 3.5Km from here. Another 1k.m from Tungnath leads to Chandrashila Peak (About 4000mts MSL).
Chopta offers amazing views of the imposing Himalayan range including Trishul, Nanda Devi and Chaukhamba. It is located at an elevation of 2680mts above sea level. Chopta is rich in varied flora and fauna. Chopta is situated amidst thick forest of pine, deodar and rhododendrons
Chopta can be reached by Via Ukimath or Gopeshwar. There are small Shops & rooms available with basic facility for Trekkers to Tungnath.

Location
This place is popularly known as 'Mini Switzerland' in Uttaranchal and Northern India. Chopta is situated at the altitude of 2900 meters. Its is 36 km from Gopeshwar, 254 km from Rishikesh, 450 km (approx) from Delhi and the best time to visit there is from June to November.
