Pabna ( _bn. পাবনা "Pabna") is a city in the west-central region of
Bangladesh . It is also the biggest city of the Pabna district. It is located on thePadma river (Ganges ) and has a population of about 138,000.Transport
Hardinge Bridge, a steel railway bridge over the Padma located near Pabna is a link between western and northern Bangladesh. Before partition of British India, it used to be a big rail stop for the Assam and Darjeeling bound trains from Calcutta. Pabna has the biggest Mental Hospital of the erstwhile state of Eastern Bengal.
Industry
It is a major industrial area, especially in textiles.
It also holds the remains of the Hindu Temple of
Jor Bangla .Education
