Chilean frigate Independencia (1818)

The Independencia was a frigate with 31 guns and 830 tons originally named Curacio[1] and was launched from the Forman Cheeseman Shipyards of New York in July 1818.[2]

She arrived (disarmed) to Buenos Aires on 18 November 1818. Six months later, on 13 May 1819 she departed under the command of Captain Paul Delano to Valparaíso.
