Chief governing officer

Chief Governing Officer or CGO. Defined term in some municipalities, organizations, or corporations as the alternative or secondary title for a Chairman of the Board (also Chairman, Chairperson, Chairwoman, Chair), especially in entities that generally have a separation of powers between the Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), generally denoting supervision by the CGO, as head of the board and supervisor of the President and/or the CEO, etc.
