It is West of Chacharo. Root of name of Chelhar was taken from the name of a man Chela Charan, who was owner of a well. Chelhar is famous for ranasir. Bhujia are the great soogat of this city, It has a Great and beautiful Mandir named Murlidhar mandir located in Mid of City and near the ૐ chowk. There is an annual fair of Dada rampir held at Chelhar usually in the month of September.
Its population is about 20,000. People of many castes including Maheshwari,Maharaj,Menghwar,Bheel,Suthar,Goswami,Bajeer,Kumbhar etc. Hindus are in Majority. Peoples of this area celebrates many festival icluding Holi,Deewali,Kirshan Janam Ashtmi,Ram Nomi,Eid,Saba-e-Ba rat etc.[1]
