Emma Townshend (born
1969 ) is a journalist and lecturer; she is the elder daughter ofThe Who 'sPete Townshend .From 1995-8 she had a record deal with East West, part of the Warner Group, releasing an album Winterland in 1998. Her song "We Can Fly Away" was the theme song in the 1999 made for TV movie
The Magical Legend of the Leprechauns , which by coincidence featuredThe Who 'sRoger Daltrey .She read history at
King's College, Cambridge and then specialised in history of science atImperial College, London . She has taught forOxford University ’s Department of Continuing Education since 2000 and is also a Visiting Lecturer atCity University, London .She writes on general arts subjects for magazines and newspapers including
