Shanxi – ca. 230), courtesy name Liangdao (梁道), was a general and bureaucrat of the Han Dynasty and subsequently of theCao Wei during theThree Kingdoms period.After appointments to several posts as prefect, governor, and Chief Secretary of the Prime Minister, Jia Kui was honored with the title of Lord of the Second Rank for his work in keeping his lands prepared for battle and well-supplied. During a skirmish with the
Wu Kingdom , Jia Kui defeated the forces ofLu Fan , earning further accolades.In 228, during the reign of Emperor Ming, he was posted with
Cao Xiu to invade Wu, at theBattle of Shiting . However, the invasion was unsuccessful, and Jia Kui rescued Cao Xiu after the latter was isolated by the false defection of Zhou Fang, leading to a successful retreat.In the "
Dynasty Warriors " games, Jia Kui is credited for intervening in a succession dispute betweenCao Pi andCao Zhang , but it is unclear whether or not this event is historical or fiction inserted from the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms " novel.Jia Kui's son,
