Adolat

Adolat

Adolat (Uzbek for Justice) is a vigilante organization that first appeared in 1991 in the Uzbek city of Namangan. Adolat members, mostly Islamic, Uzbek youths, attacked anyone who violated the most extreme of Islamic law. Leaders of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan and Al Qaida in Uzbekistan formed Adolat. Uzbek President Islom Karimov banned Adolat in 1992.
