Cerithidea is a genus of medium-sized sea snails or mud snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Potamididae, the horn snails.

There are three subgenera[2] in the genus Cerithidea and species within the genus Cerithidea include:

subgenus Cerithideopsilla Thiele, 1929 - this subgenus is the most primitive of genus Cerithidea[2]
