A work from Engeplus Construtora and Emgempre Mão-de-Obras Especializada, the training ground, one of the most modern in Brazil, was inaugurated in October 2005. The construction includes medical and training facilities for the first team and a hotel, "Recanto dos Alvinegros".

History
The project construction began on the first CT management Marcelo Teixeira as President of the Santos Football Club ( 92 / 93 ), when the team Belmiro succeeded by the City of Saints and Dock Company of the State of São Paulo (Codesp ), possession of land, strategically located (near Vila Belmiro and the entrance to the city), which would become the first team's training center Alvinegro .
At the site, previously called the Joint Poliesportivo Chico Santos Guimarães City Hall, the professional team and divisions based Santos FC had already undertaken some training. The space was also used to conduct tournaments and games of amateur teams in the city.
With the conquest of the land, the area around 40 square meters, has been receiving a series of renovations and construction to be called today for Pelé Training Center, is considered one of the most modern and well equipped training center country.
In this local grassroots teams and realize their professional training Santos, which has three fields with official dimensions, all equipped with modern drainage and irrigation automated.
They are used for the physical movements, techniques and tactics of the entire department of the Football Club. There is also a sandbox, used to physical training specific.
In addition, the CT Rei Pelé is also home to friendly and official matches of amateur teams.
Once restructured, and gain new facilities, the CT has become a reference center for the Brazilian soccer scene. When opened in early October 2005 , the first phase of the complex Modesto Rome I had the main locker room, swimming pool for physical recovery, ecumenical chapel, gym, massage room, health facility, advanced rehabilitation center, room service medical room of the department of football, football manager's office, technical department of the room, coach room, living room and the coaching staff of expert advice to clothing.
Facilities
The main dressing room, for the exclusive use of athletes for a professional team, is equipped with 36 individual lockers, four hot tubs and a spa pool, and have enough space and privacy for athletes to use in their daily work inside the CT .
The Pool Complex Modesto Roma is 20 meters long and has a streak prepared especially for swimming athletes. The idea of the technical areas of the club is to use this pool in the recovery and preparation of players within the modern concepts of physical education. The pool has thermal heating and was built under the guidance of professionals involved with the athletic preparation of players, which makes it the only pool shaped the country to attend a football team.
The weight room is integrated with the departments of physiology, physiotherapy, medicine and nutrition and have modern equipment to meet the needs of athletes and the aforementioned departments.
The rooms of professional work related to administration, management, physiology, massage, physiotherapy, nutrition, medicine and technical part have been renovated and are aggregated into a provision that will facilitate the integration of this work in day-to-day.
The CT also has the press room Peirão de Castro, who facilitates the work of journalists covering the day to day club. The site has panels with the official sponsors of the club, where players and coaches give interviews to the press.
With the second phase of the complex Modesto Rome, CT now has a hotel with 28 rooms, a large restaurant, games room, kitchen, foyer and auditorium for use in lectures and meetings of the athletes.
