Asad Malik Born Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan Nationality Pakistani Occupation TV actor, Film actor, Model Years active 1989 - present Religion Islam Asad Malik is a Pakistani model, film and television actor from Karachi who has worked in numerous movies and television serials. He gained notability from his early serials broadcasted on PTV.[1][2]
In 2004, he was involved in a shooting controversy in Hassanabdal when a truck apparently crashed in the backside of his car while travelling along the Peshawar-Rawalpindi highway.[3] When Malik tried to stop the truck, the truck driver ignored the signal and tried to escape the scene. Out of furiousness and urgency, Malik fired in the direction of the truck with a pistol he was carrying although a passenger bus unintentionally came in the way. One passenger died on the spot after being shot fatally while another two were injured. Asad Malik later acknowledged that the incident had been accidental and a mistake. The police arrested Malik and his driver[3] and Malik subsequently served a period of time being in jail. He describes his period in jail as one where he used to pass his time "studying" and where he also became friends with Yousaf Raza Gillani, who was also present at the time and would become the future Prime Minister of the country.[1]
His favourite hobbies and pastimes include scuba diving, hunting, flying and target shooting.[1]
