Club career
Olimps/RFS
He started his career in the local youth club JFK Skonto, joining Olimps/RFS in 2009. He played there for a year just being 17. He managed to score 10 goals in 18 appearances during his first season in professional football. He helped the team reach its highest position ever - 5th place in the Latvian Higher League.
Skonto
After the season Aleksandrs Starkovs - the manager of Latvia national football team- called Karašausks the best youth player of the season. Before the next season Starkovs was confirmed as the manager of Skonto, despite being the manager of the national team too. He started his work with the squad reorganization, so Karašausks was taken to Skonto alongside 5 other players from Olimps/RFS.
He started the 2010 season wonderfully, scoring 7 goals in his first four appearances. As of 2 May 2010[update] he has been the top scorer in Virsliga.
In July 2010 he went on trial with the Ukrainian team FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, but returned to Skonto, because was only offered to be a player of the reserve team. He didn't find it interesting, stating that the level of Latvian Virsliga is surely to be higher than the level of the Ukrainian reserve championship. The board of the Ukrainian club stated that they are interested in the player and would like to see him playing for the club in the future.
In August 2010 Karašausks left Skonto FC, as the manager and Karašausks himself were stating that he had overgrown the level of Latvian championship.
Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk
In August 2010 Artūrs Karašausks signed on loan with FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in Ukraine for one season. During the season there he played 9 matches in the club's reserve team, scoring twice, but he didn't appear in any first team games. After the season he returned to Skonto.
International career
Karašausks is a member of Latvia U-19. He has also represented his country at U-17 level. He was firstly called up to the senior side for a friendly match against Ghana on 5 June 2010, making his first appearance then, coming on as a substitution and replacing Artjoms Rudņevs.
Family
His father Jurijs Karašausks is also a former footballer.
Awards
In 2009 Karašausks was awarded the best youth player of Virsliga.
