Overview
An active entrepreneur, Deborah has co-founded several companies and worked with numerous film studios including Colombia Pictures, Warner Brothers, and Paramount Pictures. Her career in the industry began when she founded Rosen/Knutsen Casting in Chicago. After working on a myriad of films including Doctor Detroit, Weird Science, Lucas, and Code of Silence, and being accepted into the Directors Guild of America in 1984, Deborah sold the company to her partner Susan Knutsen and moved to Los Angeles. She quickly established a new company, Rosen-Caplan, working with broadcasting corporations NBC and CBS while simultaneously co-founded Panther Productions inc, through which she and husband Hall have worked on projects such as Liquid Television, Jay Jay the Jet Plane, Pee-Wee's Playhouse, and Alice in Wonderland (2010). In 1990, her do-it-yourself billing system "Bill Your Ex" was awarded Best New Product in a Law Related Field from the California Lawyer Magazine. In 2009 she created Gutsy Gals Inspire Me®, a multimedia entertainment company which tells the unsung stories of daring and dedicated women throughout history. In the same year, Sterling Publishing released her self-help book Put It In Writing! Creating Agreements Between Family and Friends, which was cowritten by Lynn Toler.
