Gary Jeandron

Gary Jeandron is a Republican politician from Palm Springs, California.

2008 California State Assembly run

Jeandron has announced that he is running for State Assembly in 2008. He will be running in California's 80th district against Democratic opponent, Manuel Perez. Assembly District 80 includes Imperial County and areas of Riverside County.

Social Issues

Jeandron has maintained a very conservative stance on social issues. He has stated that he is anti-abortion and supports the passage of Proposition 8, which seeks to reverse the state Supreme Court's recent decision to allow same-sex marriage. Criticisms

In a new ad campaign, the California Faculty Association is speaking out against Jeandron for his support of budget cuts to education. The union, which represents professors at all California State Universities, is concerned that these cuts will damage higher education, ultimately harming the state’s financial stability. They point out that tuition has increased 100 percent in the last five years and class sizes are only getting larger.
