George Edward Cotterill

George Edward Cotterill

George Edward Cotterill (born 28 July 1839 at Weilghery Hills, Madras, India; died 2 June 1913 at Cambridge) was an English amateur cricketer.

Career

He was mainly associated with Cambridge University and Sussex, making 18 known appearances in first-class matches from 1858 to 1874. [Arthur Haygarth, "Scores & Biographies", Volumes 6-11 (1858-1870), Lillywhite, 1862-1871] [Wisden Cricketers Almanack – 1864 to 1875 editions]

His brother Joseph Cotterill played 37 first-class matches, mainly for Sussex, from 1870 to 1888. Their nephew was George Huth Cotterill, who also played for Cambridge University and Sussex.
