Grocery pod

Grocery pod

grocery pod: (groh-sur-ee pod) noun: a round reusable washable fabric grocery bag that is fashionable and environmentally friendly. Thank you for doing your part to save the earth in style!

plastic bag: (plass-tik bag) noun: a carrying device made from polyethylene (petroleum based and environmentally degrading). This "urban tumbleweed" is littering our oceans, farms, and streets and destroying natural resources on our planet. Livestock, birds, turtles and other marine life are perishing by ingesting the "plastic bag". Keep in mind that using paper bags is not much better. While it is sustainable, as long as we plant more trees, the production process emits 70% more toxins into the air. A moment of use, a lifetime of planet abuse.

Problem

According to the Wall Street Journal Americans use over 100 Billion plastic shopping bags per year. The recycling rate for plastic bags is said to be under 5%.It takes 100 to 1000 years for the plastic bag to biodegrade.Hundreds of thousands of animals perish each year from ingesting plastic bags.Paper bags generate 70% more air pollutants in the fabrication process than plastic bags.As inhabitants of our planet we are simply cutting down more trees than we are planting.
