North florida committee on Foreign Relations

The North Florida Committee on Foreign Relations [http://acfr.org/] , or NF-CFR, is an American nonpartisan foreign policy membership council, centrally located in Tallahassee, Florida. The membership of the Committee is undisclosed, but knowingly contains business leaders, civic leaders, political figures and academic leaders in North Florida [http://www.nfcfr.org] . Current leadership positions are filled by Committee President Drew Dwyer,and Chairman of the Committee Benjamin T. Barrick, both of DVS Group International, a 2008 Inc 500 recepient by Inc Magazine [http://www.inc.com/inc5000/2008/company-profile.html?id=200801040] .

History

The Committees on Foreign Relations were founded in 1938 by the Council on Foreign Relations in New York and is a member of the American Committees on Foreign Relations in Washington D.C. [http://www.nfcfr.org] The NF-CFR began official membership meetings in 2007, and currently hold general monthly meetings at the prestigious Governor's Club in Tallahassee, Florida.

Mission

According to the North Florida Committee on Foreign Relations, the mission of the Committee is the following:

"The North Florida Committee on Foreign Relations is an independent nonpartisan membership organization dedicated to being a resource for its members, government officials, business executives, journalists, educators and students, civic and religious leaders, and other interested citizens in order to help them better understand the world and the foreign policy choices facing the United States and other countries." Leadership

Drew Dwyer

The current President of the North Florida Committee on Foreign Relations is Drew Dwyer. Drew Dwyer is a prominent American entrepreneur, community leader, and philanthropist. He is the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DVS Group worldwide and iCLEAN Cleaning Solutions Nationally [http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS113996+26-Aug-2008+PRN20080826] . Drew Dwyer is also the Finance Chairman for the Southern Center for International Studies-YP, and member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

He is the son of Michael T. Dwyer who is a successful commodities importer/exporter and a prominent member of the Council on Foreign Relations in NY. [http://www.nfcfr.org/bio]

Benjamin T. Barrick

Benjamin T. Barrick serves as the current Chairman of the Board of Directors for the North Florida Committee on Foreign Relations. Barrick is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Centre for Economic Policy Research, Foreign Policy Association and the Southern Center for International Studies.
