John P. Daley

John P. Daley

John P. Daley is the 11th Ward Democratic Commiteeman in Chicago, Illinois, a member of the Cook County Board of Commissioners (11th District), and the Chair of the Cook County Board Audit and Finance Committee.

He is the son of Richard J. Daley and Eleanor "Sis" Daley, brother of Richard M. Daley and William M. Daley, husband of Mary Lou Daley, father of John R., Michael, and Christine Daley.

He is a former Illinois State Senator, Illinois State Representative, and school teacher.

During his service as Cook County Commissioner, Mr. Daley voted for a 1 point tax increase which pushed Chicago's sales tax rate above every major city in the US. As a result, the Chicago Tribune has called for the voters of Cook County to vote against John Daley in the next election.
