The Kentucky Bisons are a basketball team in the American Basketball Association set to begin play in 2008-09. Based in Owensboro, Kentucky, the Bisons will play their home games at the Owensboro Sportscenter.

The team was previously known as the Kentucky Mavericks and was going to play in Bowling Green before former owner Jason Smith had his franchise revoked. Smith is currently facing six felony counts of passing bad checks. [http://bgdailynews.com/articles/2008/08/28/sports/sports2.txt]
