Elizabeth Ely Bogus ("Bogie") was born in Provo, Utah, on February 24, 1984. She was selected in the third round draft on October 6, 2008, by the Bay Area team in the Women's Professional League.
Bogus graduated from Brighton High School in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2002.
High School: Student body vice president 2001-2002. Tallied state records with 79 career goals and 27 assists at Brighton. Three-time 5A all-state first team selection. Earned all-state second team honors her freshman year. Utah ODP team member 1998-2002. National 3v3 champion 1999. Selected to the 2001 Interregional National camp in Chicago. Participated in the 2001 Adidas ESP camp. Region IV ODP team member 2001-2002. 2002 Gatorade Utah High School Player of the Year. 2002 NSCAA Adidas Utah High School Player of the Year. 2002 USSSA honorable mention All-American. Also played club soccer for the Firebirds.
Bogus attend college in Tempe, Arizona, at Arizona State University. She graduated in 2006. She was an inaugural Pat Tillman scholar.
Arizona State: The Arizona State University graduate tallied 31 goals (two golden) and 18 assists for 80 points over her four-year career with the Sun Devils. Tied for the single-season record with seven game-winners in 2002. (2005) Named Pac-10 Player of the Week (Aug. 30-Sept. 5); Soccer Buzz All-Region, second team; All-Pac-10, first team; ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VIII, first team; Pac-10 All-Academic, second team. Maroon & Gold Scholar-Athlete (2003): Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 selection. Second on the team in shots (49), goals (6) and points (16). Finished third in assists (4). Second-team Pac-10 All-Academic. Named a Maroon & Gold Scholar-Athlete (2002): Named the Pacific-10 Conference Freshman of the Year, becoming the second Sun Devil to garner Pac-10 Freshman/Newcomer of the Year honors. Soccer America Freshman All-American. Soccer Buzz second-team Freshman All-American. Soccer Buzz All-West Region (Freshman). Finished first in the Pac-10 in game-winning goals (7), third in shots (62) and goals (10), and sixth in points (22). Named one of 12 finalists for the 2002 National Freshman of the Year by Soccer Buzz Magazine. Earned All-Pac-10 First Team honors, one of only two freshmen to earn that distinction. Twice selected as the Pac-10 Player of the Week. Named to the Sept. 30 Soccer America Team of the Week and the Oct. 1 Soccer Buzz Magazine Elite Feet of the Week. Played and started in all 21 games.
