The idea for the museum came when Hoffman was cleaning out a closet and came across seven umbrella covers. It has also hosted special exhibitions including “People and Their Covers” and “New Umbrella Cover Fashions.” [ [http://books.google.com/books?id=X3L-D9i9BOMC&pg=PA66&lpg=PA66&dq=%22umbrella+cover+museum%22&source=web&ots=n0ZEN8jGkd&sig=MHnRrdZdfmkgGT1m3KKHbdpqinc&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=2&ct=result#PPA67,M1 “Curious New England” by Joseph A.
