Kupa e shqipërisë 2008–09

Kupa e shqipërisë 2008–09 is the fifty-seventh season of Albania's annual cup competition. It began on September 24, 2008 with the First Premiliary Round and will end in May 2009 with the Final. The winner of the competition will qualify for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. Vllaznia Shkodër are the defending champions.

The rounds will be played in a two-legged format similar to those of European competitions. If the aggregated score is tied after both games, the team with the higher number of away goals will advance. If the number of away goals is equal in both games, the match will be decided by extra time and a penalty shootout, if necessary.

Premiliary Tournament

In order to reduce the number of participating teams for the First Round to 32, a premiliary tournament was played. Only teams from the Second Division (III) were allowed to enter. Each Second Division group played its own tournament. In contrast to the main tournament, the premiliary tournament was held as a single-leg knock-out competition.

First Round

All twenty-eight teams of Superliga 2008–09 and First Division 2008–09 will enter in this round. First leg matches will be played in late November 2008 with the second leg matches to be played one week later.
