"Men In Fright" is a 1938 "Our Gang" short comedy film directed by George Sidney. It was the 172nd "Our Gang" short (173rd episode, 84th talking short, 85th talking episode, and fourth MGM produced episode) that was released.

Plot

Men in Fright gets under way as Alfalfa, Spanky, Buckwheat, Porky, and Leonard pay a visit to their hospitalized friend Darla. Thanks to a convenient plot device, Alfalfa is mistaken for a tonsillectomy patient and subjected to laughing gas. Once this complication has been straightened out, the kids burrow through a picnic basket full of such delicacies as pickles, ice cream, and hot dogs, with the expected results (conveyed via a clever bit of animation). They wind up with such stomachaches that they wind up in the hospital just as Darla goes home. Notes

"Men In Fright" was filmed on MGM's standing Dr. Kildare sets. This film is considered one of the best of the 52 MGM Our Gang episodes.
