Doctor by Day is a short film directed by award winning Australian director Alex Frayne. The film noir was independently financed and filmed entirely in Adelaide, South Australia. The team behind the film (Sputnik Films) includes award winning cinematographer Nick Matthews and Australian Film Institute winning sound designer Tom Heuzenroeder.

Doctor by Day was first screened on the Australian Special Broadcasting Service in early 2000. The film was included as part of the "special extras" on the Accent Underground DVD release of Frayne's film "Modern Love" in April 2008.

ynopsis

Doctor by Day concerns the events of an evening in which a blind lesbian has a seizure in her own home. Her neighbour, a doctor, witnesses the event and enters the residence as the woman becomes unconscious. He calls an ambulance. Or does he? The audience sees in flashback the real events of the evening, events which are both shocking and frightening.
