Geode is a Firefox add-on that will locate a user's computer, enabling personalized and localized content. When the extension is fully operational, a user who is looking for restaurants while they are out of town will be able load up their favorite review site, for example, find suggestions nearby and plot directions there.

Pownce and Fire Eagle have both connected the plugin to their services. Pownce is using the plugin to attach location information to messages and other contributions to the service. Fire Eagle will use Geode as another way to gather and broker location information for its users and the services they use.
