Run arrived in Los Angeles in 2000 under the bands previous tag Bitter Fly. After a few years of playing the local club scene the band received it's first real break. Their debut album, The Itis was released in 2005 and their single Wasting Away, hit the airwaves.Fact|date=October 2008 Run was suddenly being played on radio stations across the United States.Fact|date=October 2008 Over 20 stations in major US markets aired the single, most of them adding it to their regular playlist.Fact|date=October 2008 Wasting Away beat out even the most popular rock bands as ‘Number One! The band began touring but faced a lineup change early on. Founding member, Mike LaChance, formed Rockfield Productions in 2006 and headed into the studio to begin work on a second album. In December of 2006 bassist Darren Mercier joined the band. Music fromRun 's 1st albumThe Itis was used in several episodes ofMtv 'sRoad Rules in 2007 as the band was finishing up studio work on their 2007 album release The Bitter End. Several interim drummers (Trevor Faris -We Shot The Moon , Andre Tangaretti - Plastick, Addie Roncal - Addie & The Sad Robots, Marshall Harrod - Zerofixx) kept the project going until July of 2008. Mike LaChance (vocals/guitar) and Darren Mercier (bass/vocals) found themselves out on the road with shows booked, and no drummer to play them. They knew that they needed a professional to complete the formation. After about a month of holding auditions in their Los Angeles studio, Maxx Zinno (originally fromPulse Ultra andRise Electric ) joined the band.
