Lazarus Syndrome is a complex and rare medical condition whereby an individual undergoing emergency cardiac resuscitation ceases to have vital signs, is declared dead, and then spontaneously resumes circulation and vital signs. One example is a Judith Johnson, 61, of Georgetown, Delaware, USA. She was given "multiple medicines and synchronized shocks", and despite this, never regained a pulse. She was declared dead but was found to be very much alive and breathing in the morgue. She is at present suing the Beebe Medical Center, where it happened.
