Edinburgh North by-election, 1973

Edinburgh North by-election, 1973

A by-election took place in Edinburgh North (UK Parliament constituency) in November 1973. Alexander Fletcher held the seat for the Conservatives, after his predecessor became Duke of Buccleuch.

It was overshadowed by taking place on the same day as the spectacular SNP win in Glasgow Govan (UK Parliament constituency).
