Gingerbread (novel)

"Gingerbread" is a teen novel/series written by Rachel Cohn, known for her book Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist which became a 2008 movie. The book is about Cyd Charrise, a punk girl who lives in San Francisco with her parents Nancy and her non-bio-dad Sid, and her siblings Ash and Josh. The novel also talks about her life with Shrimp and other characters.

Characters

*Cyd Charrise is the narrator of all the books. She is punk and dresses in black everyday. Her sometimes-boyfriend is Shrimp and her ex is Justin. She is soon friends with Delia, Helen, Wallace (aka Java), and her half siblings Danny and LisBETH. For a while she had a crush on Luis and Java. She is sometimes nicknamed CC or Ceece.
*Shrimp is Cyd's on and off boyfriend throughout the series. He is Java's brother and he is a surfer. He is friends with other surfers like Arran (Aryan). He is described as 'mellow'.
*Sugar Pie was Cyd's first friend. She is likes Fernando and lives in a nursing home, where she met Cyd when she had to do community service.
