Dabayin , also spelt Debayin or Depayin, is a
town in theSagaing Division inMyanmar (Burma) where the infamousDepayin Massacre took place on May 30, 2003, during a tour of the country by the opposition leaderAung San Suu Kyi . Naungdawgyi (1760-1763), son ofAlaungpaya and eldest brother ofHsinbyushin andBodawpaya , was titledPrince of Dabayin ("Dabayin Min").
