They have been members of the
Scottish Premier League Reserve League since its foundation in 1999 (initially as the SPL under-21 League), and generally finish each season in mid-table, although they have finished as high as third (2006/07) and as low as bottom (1999/00). The team mainly consists of under-21 players at the club, with players under 19 playing for the under-19 side. Senior players occasionally play in the reserve side, for instance when they are recovering from injury.The reserves manager is Peter Houston, who picks and manages the side.
